MARLON PARRING
Commercial Director
Marlon was introduced to the family businesses at a very young age and this included spending time on the workshop floor and later in the boardroom, where he witnessed his father Patrick Parring, conduct his business. On completing his Undergraduate Degree in Commerce at University of Stellenbosch, he joined the family businesses on a full-time basis in 2000. He was fortunate to be introduced and exposed to international business and travel during that time. He joined a well-known boutique commercial property brokerage firm in 2006 to 2009, and during that time, he completed his Honours Degree at the University of South Africa. He returned to the family business in 2009, and remained actively involved within the commercial property industry as Director of Par Brokerage Services.
He is an active committee member serving as deputy Chairperson on the Western Cape Committee of the South African Property Owners Association (SAPOA). He has also served as the regional chair of “Young Business South Africa” (YBSA), and within the family businesses he places a lot of emphasis on hiring and mentoring young professionals.
Marlon was appointed as the group Chief Operating Officer of the Par Equity Group in 2012 where he is responsible for the group’s overall operations. He has a great passion and drive for business development, focusing especially on the development of young business professionals and entrepreneurs.
